We are pleased to announce our 40th Anniversary Conference, and hope to have many come out to celebrate this tremendous milestone. A retrospective of the organization and its roots, but also reaffirmation of a collective commitment to supporting psychosocial oncology in the years ahead. As a registered charity, CAPO strives to offer our members great value in membership. Membership dollars go towards CAPO’s ability to assist in developing sustainable practices in psychosocial oncology through innovation, education, research and knowledge translation, clinical and community care as well as leadership and advocacy. We are open for donations to the 40th anniversary celebration. Any and all donations will serve to help us in providing an outstanding experience to all and solidify our position as global leaders in psychosocial oncology and care  for many more years to come.

The difficult reality is that a cancer diagnosis can be as devastating emotionally as it is physically. Very often, we are not aware of how deeply cancer affects the human spirit and emotional health of the person diagnosed, and their loved ones.

The Canadian Association of Psychosocial Oncology / Association Canadienne d’Oncologie Psychosociale (CAPO/ACOP) is an organization of professionals trained to help patients and families cope with the emotional, psychological and social stresses that often surface in the course of cancer and its treatment. CAPO is dedicated to the understanding, treatment and study of the social, psychological, emotional, spiritual and quality-of-life aspects of cancer.

Through generous donations, CAPO/ACOP is able to work towards fostering and encouraging interdisciplinary excellence in psychosocial research, education, and clinical practice in oncology.

Psychosocial oncology professionals are trained to help patients and their family and friends deal with their fears and strong emotions. You too can be a part of the healing process.

CAPO/ACOP is a registered Canadian Charitable organization.
