The Bultz Student Award Series was established to honour the vision and memory of Ben and Molly Bultz, and is a tribute to their compassion, love of education and generosity of spirit.
The Bultz Best Student Poster Award
The purpose of this award is to recognize a student member of the Canadian Association of Psychosocial Oncology, for a poster presentation of a research project demonstrating excellence in psychosocial oncology research in Canada.
The award will be presented at the annual CAPO conference.
The project can be completed or the student can present data from ongoing research.
CAPO members are informed of the competition at the time of call for abstracts and asked to request consideration of their submitted abstracts. Scientists will judge all submitted poster presentations at the conference to select the “best” poster according to pre-specified criteria.
The student must attend the conference to be eligible.
This award is presented annually. There can only be one winner for this award per year.
To be eligible for this award, the student must indicate eligibility when completing the call for abstract submissions form.

CAPO Conference Student Travel Award
2012 submission deadline February 24, 2012
This annual award has been developed to honour a CAPO student member who has demonstrated excellence in his/ her submission of an original paper. This award will be awarded annually to coincide with CAPO’s Annual Conference.
This award is open to clinicians and researchers and the focus of the manuscript can include one (or more) of the following: research, clinical or educational. The submitted manuscript will be peer reviewed by two CAPO members selected by the Awards Committee.
The recipient of the award will receive $1000.00 to assist with travel to the CAPO conference. The winner will be asked to present the paper at the conference. Conference registration fees will be waived.
The award announcement will coincide annual with the call for conference abstracts. Award Notification will coincide with notification of all conference abstract submissions.
Procedures and Terms of Reference:
- The applicant must be a member in good standing of CAPO at the time of the application.
- The applicant must be registered as a full-time or part-time student (undergraduate, graduate or post-graduate levels).
- The manuscript should be no more than 2500 words in length (12 point font and double spaced).
- The recipient of the award must agree to be profiled at the annual CAPO conference with a 15 minute presentation of his/ her paper.
- The Awards Committee of the CAPO Board will select a recipient from the applicants based on scores and recommendations from the reviewers. If no suitable applicants are chosen, no award will be given.
- Annually the Chair of the Awards Committee will set the award submission date.
